Montagifye.

More work in the classroom - montages! These collages we created will eventually become 10 singular, art-based images which will be assessed and graded in two weeks time. I am quite pleased with how mine are turning about (:

Mundesley Coast

This weekend I went to the coast with some friends. Let's just say, I wish we never had to leave. The place was gorgeous! And the house in which we stayed was beyond amazing. It was so great to just get away for a few days, enjoy the beach and enjoy each other's company. So here's a few pics from the trip: enjoy! (:

Masked.

Just some more experiments with lights and slow shutter speeds; though, this time, with a bit of masquerade. (:

Today, at home, I experimented with a few photos using photoshop - the photos were those that I had already taken myself. For this photo I used multiple layers and textures, dodging, inverting, brightness and contrast, and I also changed the hue. I'm thinking of using this photo in an upcoming book, which I will be putting together and printing myself.

Queen Mess

This morning, in class, we created masks. Or ... what were supposed to be masks. Some looked like nothing but rumpled newspaper clippings slapped together with hot glue and hair, but if an artist says it's a mask who are you to argue? It's art! Either way, whether we created/destroyed masks, or whether we conjured montages of "art", I never failed to make a serious mess. Like always.
Enjoy the gander!

Light Trails

Today in class we experimented with our digital cameras while using slow shutter speeds and light. We completely blacked out the room and used bright lights to draw shapes and letters in the air. I used a Canon Rebel xT1i SLR (18-55mm lens) with manual focus, ISO 100, F/8 and a tripod. For lighting, I experimented with sparklers, flashlights and strobe lights. It was tons of fun and I think we all got some really cool shots!
